Reviews
Coming from New York, the food is excellent. It’s what is expected with the quality.
The restaurant would only accept one gift card, though there was no fine print on the gift card mentioning there was a limit of one gift card per order. We did meet the stated requirements so there really is no reason they wouldn't accept them.
Very good food. Fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is very nice. We went on a Saturday afternoon and had some wonderful sandwiches. It would be nice if they came with a side salad considering the price. The service was good. The baseboard could be cleaned better, as well as the woodwork. All and all, it was a yummy experience! I would go back!
Great choices and deserts...fAIR PRICES...convenient location
Hi.....I did a takeout and the service was perfect. It was ready to go when I arrived. Very friendly staff
Dining at least 1/mo. for the past 6 years. Portions were considerable smaller than previous visits.
Sicilian pizza was cold and doughy. Order was wrong and waiter was slow.
Rhonda is our waitress of choice and she does a great job.
great food, great service
Our first pizza was burned on the bottom and undercooked on the top. Nothing was homemade or tasted fresh and they use canned mushroom and sauce from a can. We asked them to redo the pizza and the second one was better but they didn't take any money off even though our bad dining experience took two hours.
Great pizza and a lot of it
great pizza
seating is limitedyou have to ask for breadfood was hit or miss among the 4 items we ordered
Our waitress was delightful! Food was properly cooked and delicious. Had a baby with us and she was totally entertained by all the families.
We have eaten there several times and it is always great. My wife tried to figure out what she had before. They use real Italian names for the dishes which are unfamiliar to us. You must read the descriptions carefully. She, by mistake, ordered a similar dish to the one that she wanted. While the ingredients were similar, the dish was different and not to her liking. She asked to look at the menu again so she could figure out where she went wrong. We did NOT ask to replace the meal (it was OUR fault!), but when the waitress understood the error she insisted on replacing the menu item with what my wife had intended to order. Talk about going the extra mile!!
Food very good, service was excellent, prices very reasonable and location very convenient. Plenty of free parking nearby.
awesome service!
It was great experience, although the restuarant is really small. We ended up sitting by the door and it was a cold wind blowing in everytime the door opened.
The staff is always pleasent and the food is great.
Food was delicious. Service was great; we did dine on the early side, so it was quieter than it can be at times and the waitress had time to be attentive.
The Crustino pizza was great, but stay away from the calamari! It was like trying to eat deep fried rubberbands. :>(
Friendly service, and considering that we had children in our party, it was fairly organized. Most of the food was good, but one entree - the balsamic chicken - was terribly disappointing.
Wait staff downstairs is great. Especially enjoy Elisabeth. She is super friendly and provides great service.
Two meals too salty, rest pretty basic overall.
We love Anna's. It is our favorite place to go with family and out of town guests. We can have fun and be very serious too, depending on the need. There is always enough food to take home for a second Anna's meal, heated up and enjoyed once again. It is the best!
Handled our group of 10 during a busy Sat lunch hour. We were well looked after and the food was outstanding.
Great customer server and great food!
Fabulous food! Crowded at lunch on Sat., but we were served quickly and EVERYthing we selected was delicious! Great first experience!
Excellent service
Excellent service!
just too noisy
The waitress was a lil slow but very nice
I loved the food. It was so great to eat NY style Italain food. I can't wait to come again and bring my adult children & their family. My waitress was the sweetest.
The server was good and the food was delicious!
Great service & food. Wish your bread was served hot or toasted though! :) rocking food otherwise.
The food was excellent...will definitely go back.
Table was wobbly
Felt like the service was terrible. We enjoyed the food but felt like the staff didn't really want us there. I had to ask for bread. I had to find server to get coffee and then they did not bring cream or sugar. Finally a bus boy threw some packets of sugar and cream on the table. I had to use my knife to stir it. I asked for another cup and same thing occurred. I felt like servers didn't really care since I had a restaurant.com certificate--they knew they had their tip. Not sure why this restaurant has these certificate if the wait staff treat the customers with them like this. I have heard good things about this restaurant but totally have a terrible taste about it due to the service not the food.
Enjoy the food. Servers are always friendly and happy. Thought price for Caesar salad was high for portion. Bread should be brought to table without asking. A little too much balsalmic vinegar in Veal dish - overpowered.
Dinner was excellent and Rhonda was a very nice waitress. And you can'T beat the price!
Terrific service, great food, nice atmosphere
Waiter was poor on drink refills but very pleasant and nice.
This is a wonderful restaurant with exceptional servers and fantastic food. The canolis are the best you will find anywhere.
Waitress was attentive and very helpful.
The food was extremely salty.
The mussels in white sauce are insanely good.
A very pleasant experience. The service was fantastic.
We were there on a particularly busy evening. Waitress was good, but very slow service due to the heavy crowd that evening. Food was good but chicken was over cooked. Hope to have a more positive opinion on a future visit.
Kitchen was incredibly slow - whole families came and went while we waited for our food. Some of the recipes were not our favorite (carbonara was overpowered with too much onion) - but the garlic knots were delicious.
I like their food, but the restaurant is small, the tables are very close together and it gets very noisy.
I come from New England, so I know good Italian food. The Caprese salad was just awful - a plate of iceberg lettuce, with 4 paper thin quarter slices of anemic tomato (one was actually partly green), which sat on 4 slices of fresh mozzarella. The whole thing was sprinkled with what appeared to be garlic powder, dressing and a few pieces of fresh basil. Sorry, but I've had Caprese salad in Italy and this was a joke. First of all, lettuce?? - Caprese salad is tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. It should be a plate full of mozzarella and fresh, RED tomatoes, not 4 slices of pale hot house tomatoes. The chef should be embarrassed serving this and although it was only $6.95, it was way too much for what it was. The meals were ok, not great but not awful and the house wine was a good deal. On the plus side, our server (blond female) was very nice and sweet. We felt bad complaining to her so we just didn't. Wouldn't go back anytime soon - can make better Italian myself at home.
We came for the trivia game, too. Previous week we showed up to find it was canceled. Disappointed. This time they had problems processing our bill - couldn't split it on 2 cards. You need to hire MORE PEOPLE to work there! Service slow - not their fault. Management?
evening sun in eyes during dinner, slow service
enjoy this neighborhood restaurant!
Love the restaurant! Love the small town feel. Would make this a regular night out!
Little pricy
Food is great!
Our pizza was burnt. We didn't complain because it was so busy.
This is a wonderful "family" restaurant. I love downtown Apex and this is a wonderful part of it. I will definitely be eating there again!
Portions were smaller that we were expecting and the cost of our order was a bit high.
Calamari was cold...fine for local family dining...not gourmet Italian...fine for casual family dining...
Fantastic food! Ambiance is a little bit less frantic than the downstairs area... highly recommended!
Excellent food, hard working server. Food delivery was varied, mistake on the bill.
Didn't like the boy sweeping the floor around our table as we were eating. You might want to do that after customers leave.
Loved the pizza!
Small restaurant but excellent food & portions
Great food, nice service, fun atmosphere!
My only concern was Anna's did not have enough staff to cover the number of patrons. the service was a little "slow".
The desserts were delicious too.
They have the finest made to order canolis that I have ever tasted in the entire country. All of the Italian dishes are the real deal and the proprietor is on site and wonderful in addition to enormously experienced at what he does. This is a no fail restaurant opportunity in a tiny little town in the middle of proverbial nowhere. Do not miss it!
Service wasn't great, but it was done with great intentions and a wonderful attitute. Always a smile. I love the fact that this is a local restaurant and not a huge chain.
Great food and service! The place has lots of atmosphere too!
Great waiter! Love the crust on the pizza. BTW, the first time I heard of the place was seeing it in downtown Apex.
We love Anna's - great place in historic Apex.
The place is way too crowded and open. Tables on top of each other. The picture of the dining room upstairs is nothing like the main dining room. We will not be back.
I thought the paper plates to be tacky. Other than that, I thought the whole experience wonderful.
