This is a terrible representation of a loved Haitian dish. Legume is a traditional Haitian dish from the country, similar to diriz djon djon (black mushroom rice). The preparation involved and the cooking time required make it labor-intensive. However, with the perfect combination of ingredients, legume is well worth the effort. Once all the ingredients are prepared, the process becomes manageable. It's typically served with diriz blan (white rice) and any type of sauce pwa (bean sauce). This meal is filling and packed with protein and vitamins. Unfortunately, the dish I received was subpar and lacked love and respect for the culture. The dish didn't even include the sauce beans, which requires minimal effort to make. I hope this restaurant improves. People in small towns are sometimes underestimated, with the assumption that they're unfamiliar with cultural food. If this restaurant wants to succeed in our town, they must respect our community and cultural foods. As the first Haitian restaurant in our town, it's essential to set a good example and take responsibility for representing cultural foods accurately.
