This restaurant has been one of my favorites for many years. Food is always good and waitstaff as well
Food is good, need to improve their service. From our last visit there is no receptionist to sit us and we have to find someone and sit ourselves. There's only 1 server and we have to help ourselves around the place.
Clean, quiet and pleasant lighting. Excellent service and staff. Food was excellent and served at a nice pace giving time to eat and converse.

Great food and great service. The seashore dinner is amazing. You get 6 courses meal for $39.99. It’s the best deal in town I f you like lobster, clams and shrimps. Love it ??????

The salad leaves much to be desired. Quality of the bread is not great and the unwrapped bread sticks leaves one to wonder if they're being recirculated. When I asked for my salad to include feta cheese, I was charged two dollars for a very small piece. It didn't even taste like real feta from Greece. Instead, it tasted like it came from Costco's. My seafood combination was good. My guest's dinner (Shrimp scampi) was described as "just ok." On this, as well as on a previous occasion, my date did not enjoy her meal. Previously she claimed the filet tasted "fishy" and not very fresh. I will say that the meals always come out of the kitchen steaming hot.

everything was really good- except for the fried scallops- had a funky taste- frozen??? however the fried shrimp were wonderful!!

The food was very good. The seating and tables were a bit tight.

it was my birthday and our lobster dinners were wonderful. we traveled almost 2 hrs to get there but it was worth it.
We had a wonderful waitress. Very friendly. Great service. She kept bringing over fresh bread before we could even tell her that we were out. And she left a pitcher of water on our table so we didn't have to constantly ask for more water.
have had a better experience here before. server kept saying she would be right w/me but she only had 2 other tables and 1 was getting only coffee and other was on dessert. fried seafood had different breading and was too well done and scallops greasy. other waitress gave customer soup instead of salad and i would have preferred the soup i bought to be in place of salad.lima bean soup was watery.

The Barge never disappoints. Nothing fancy, but simple and fresh seafood at it's best. I love to always order shrimp francese, although it is not on the menu. They will make it for you, though, with 6 very nice size shrimp per order. And it's outstanding!
We found the service excellent, also enjoyed being in a quiet dining room, as far as the food, it is basic, but quite good; fish was fresh and nicely prepared

we had the shore dinner which is $39.99 and worth every penny. The steamers and boiled lobster were a treat. The waitress also could not have been more pleasant. We travel almost an hour to the Barge but it is worth it.
Our greeting walking in was non-existent. A server was staring at her phone, looked up, and back to her phone. The hostess was doing paperwork and all you could see was the top of her head behind the desk. After standing there awkwardly for a while she said one minutes please. Then we were seated in a dining room at a folding table with a table cloth covering it. We sat for about 15 minutes and bread was brought to the table. We then waited another 10-15 minutes before our drink order was taken. We stopped the waiter before leaving so that we could order our food as well. We both ordered the surf and turf (filet and lobster). One order was to be med/well and the other med. Both steaks came out severely undercooked (rare) and without a grain of seasoning on it. Both lobster tails were also clearly undercooked and still clear and chewy. Not a single smile from a staff member the entire time or a friendly comment or greeting. We loudly said goodbye and thank you to the hostess as we walked out as she would not have even said a word or noticed we were there. Horrible experience.
Food was delicious & there was plenty of it. We also enjoyed our waitress who has worked there for more than 30 years.
I have been here several times and it seems like the portions are getting smaller and smaller for the same price! With that said the music on the patio was nice.

Attended a High School get together luncheon which we all decided to do at the Barge. We had the most pleasant waiter, who got all the orders correct, and the food was excellent. There was also a baby shower in the upstairs room and other diners in another room of the restaurant. They were able to accommodate everyone with no problem.

I had scallops, and asked that they be Broiled Dry(no butter). They were excellent!!
Little neck clams were not little neck but cherries. Breadcrumbs on top had no taste to them. The Manhatten clam chowder tasted more like minestrone soup. The steak was a bad cut, too much fat.
Staff is great, service was excellent. Meal were phenomenal! 2 seafood dishes and both were cooked perfectly. Everyone went above and beyond to make our dinner great.
Everyone enjoyed their meal - prepared perfectly. The Reese's white chocolate pie was the finishing touch!

Regular hostess is not particularly pleasant dealing with customers (whether with or without reservations).
I truly enjoyed the crab cakes with lobster sauce. However, my other guest found their dishes (shrimp parm & chicken scampi) to be fair.
Although the person answering the phone was quite rude, the dining experience was fabulous! We were seated quickly, although not where we requested (water view), the food and service was fantastic! I mention the 2 negatives because we dined late, 9 PM, and there were tables available with a water view, but when we asked if we could sit there, we were met with a stern, "NO." The rude telephone person could have caused us not to even give the restaurant a try. So Glad we did! We'd even go back the food and service was that good. Who knows, maybe the person answering the phone was having a bad night, or had been annoyed by something else. We try to give the benefit of doubt when it comes to these things. You never know what someone else is dealing with. Her attitude didn't impact our dining experience, just our seating experience, ha, ha!
Greeting upon entering was not welcoming. I asked for food with light oil and it came smothered in it service was just ok
Seafood is fantastic for a restaurant not down the shore.
As usual, excellent seafood dishes. My wife especially enjoyed the Lobster Thermidor.

I have been eating scallops there for years and I love them but this time the scallops were not bad but they tasted different almost like they came from somewhere else
The place was clean, the people couldn't be nicer, the food was exquisite, and the price was so much cheaper than I thought it should be. It was wonderful. Can't wait to go back.

The Shore Dinner (salad,steamers,clam chowder,shrimp cocktail, and lobster tails) was absolutely delicious and shared in part by two. This is a wonderful dish to be tried.

We had always enjoyed The Barge. The Italian dishes were excellent. This time, my husband ordered a reuben sandwich and it was disappointing. The bread was not toasted, the meat was not warmed up and the cheese did not even melt! I could have made a better reuben at home!

We enjoyed the dining experience because we happened to come before 6 p.m. and therefore the prices were very reasonable. we also like the new look of the place.
