Chef (father) and server (son) were so nice. Chef came out, shook my hand, introduced himself, returned several times including taking my order and explaining the 1-10 "hot" scale. He came out to check on how I liked my food. When I left, he came out again and said good-bye to me by name with a request to come again.
Very bland sauces, forgot an order of naan, tough naan; heartily mediocre and not cheap. Disappointed.
The Chai tea was the best we have ever had! Ambiance was good. The salad and entree were delicious!
Ownerchef and waitress are very engaging. He makes sure he knows what you want and how much heat you want.
authentic indian food! amazing tasting dishes! this is NOT americanized indian food unlike most restaurants. from the outside it looks claustrophobic but there is a totally pleasant transformation once you enter the door
Fantastic restaurant with very personal service. The chef/owner has come to our table to speak to us each time we've visited. I've eaten Indian food many places and this restaurant is superior to all others.
Excellent food, excellent service, one of the best in Huntington Village
Good food and selection, reasonably priced, service was good
Waitress was extra special
I ordered take out and did not dine at the restaurant.
Food and atmosphere did not live up to expectations
good server, great food, not too crowded
not too crowded, good server.
food was excellent and workers were very friendly and helpful.Really enjoyed our meal here.:)
Food was great, service was outstanding, lunch price is great.
Salad bar was great.
Wonderful service and food choices
Be careful when your waiter asks if you want flat or sparkling water. Even if you say flat, he will still bring bottled water. He told us not nicely that we had to say tap water, which was not given as an option. After returning the bottled water, he did not take it off the bill (until we asked after getting the bill) and he never apologized. However, the food was good and the servers bringing the meat were friendly and accommodating.
Good food.
I heard a lot of people complain that the meat didn't come around very often. It was not the case for us. Exceptional service! they were bringing it faster than we could eat it. I would say on average every 3 to 4 minutes! We went at lunchtime, there were some meats that were a little rare. Thank you! For having gluten free options at this restaurant. The GF biscuits were excellent as well. We will be back! If people have had a bad experience in the past, I would encourage them to give it another try.
Friendly and owner talks to you
Best lettuce with bacon dressing and filling.
The restaurant was clean and the staff was polite and attentive. They do accept restaurant.com coupons. Parking is hard to find (room for 8 cars only). Having lived in Lancaster County PA for over 30 years and being married to a native Lancaster countian, we have a very good idea of what PA Dutch cooking should taste like. Deitsch Eck fell short. I had fresh sausage which was cut length wise and grilled on both sides. It's a quick way to prepare it, but all the juices escape, so naturally it was dried out. The chicken was also overcooked and dry and the green beans had no color. Obviously straight out of a can, not frozen. Prices are probably average, but if you want good PA Dutch cooking, travel to Lancaster County, there are better places to choose from.
This was the first time we came on a Saturday night -- they were really busy, but the food and service was great!
My meal was fine (taco salad with grilled chicken) but my friend ordered a pizza and after one slice had to stop eating it.
We received a personalized meal with our 4 & 6 yr olds firsttry with Indian food. They loved it the meal and the personalized entrees. Made us feel right at home. Terrific and personalized service. Excellent familyexperience!!!!
Went here with a party of 2 for my lady's birthday. They had our reservation & table ready upon arrival without any delay. Complimentary foccacia bread (yum!) with olive oil & balsamic vinegar. Great gnocchi & ravioli. AMAZING tiramisu (best I've ever had, and I normally don't like tiramisu)! Our waiter was very attentive and catered to all our needs without any problems or hesitation.
We were very pleased with the service, variety, quality of food and the ambience.
Different foods that surpassed my expecatations.
server was very attentive
A solutely delicious meal!
When we first walked in, we would greeted with the overwhelming stench of a burning incense stick (cheap)...very offensive smell to the senses and made breathing tough on our lungs. The "servers" were basically kids...they did not seem to have any idea of the process. The food was absolutely TERRIBLE! The "Indian" sauces served with our lamb and chicken dishes seemed to come straight out of a jar bought at Wal-Mart. The meat itself was very umm...interesting and chewy. We ate at this place 2 years ago, and did not have a good experience then but we figured we would try again...Oopsie. The male server was cool though. He seemed to try, but 2 (Poor) 's + 1 (Fair) rating still averages out to a 1 )-:
I love the personal attention we receive from the owner/chef. The food is always amazing.
We love Sona, the chef/owner Shiv Kumar makes the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
Great dining experience. Food prepared personally by the owner-chef. Highly recommend!!!
Excellent food offerings, delicious food, friendly atmosphere, you could tell our patronage was appreciated. I will go back soon!
Chef was fantastic. Really enjoyed how he came to the table and introduced himself, inquired about the food, etc. He seemed very proud of his work...and had very good reason to be! Great experience.
Great food, as always!
Shiv is a great cook and his food is always wonderful!!!
The restaurant is quiet, but the food is always good, I have been here a few times before. Shiv (sp?), the owner, always comes to our table and asks about the food. He is careful to make every dish special and to your spice taste. Their Butter Chicken is delicious as well as their Chai Tea (which you can buy his special blend to make at home). Actually I've never had anything I didn't like. The apps of cauliflower and chickpeas are both yummy even if you aren't big on the veggies. I would definitely recommend this to anyone even if you are new to Indian food. Great restaurant!
Always an excellent choice to get good friends together.
Best Indian food I've ever had, and one of my favorite places to eat. The service is always exceptional!
Some of the best Indian food we have had in this country--a real delight to be treated as friends. I only wish we lived near enough to return regularly. When we pass through again to visit family, we will be certain to visit Sona again. THANK YOU. We will post a detailed Tripadvisor review as well.
Amazing restaurant, one of my favorites. The food is very fresh and made to order. We recommend Sona all the time.
We love this restaurant, the food is delicious, and the owner/chef makes everyone feel so welcome.
Always a wonderful dining experience.
