Beautiful table by open window. Warm welcome by Richie. Took a reservation despite busy NorthEnd Feast season. Aldo our waiter was great
Food was EXCELLENT as always. But be careful when the server says the bottle of water on the table will be replaced with a cold bottle. We just wanted tap water but had to pay $9.00 for the initial bottle. If you want tap water, say so initially so you don't get charged for the $9.00 bottle of water.
Friendly greeting, reasonable prices, good portion size, delicious food. Quiet comfortable premises
Our experience was fablious.We were a party of four and were greeted by Rich the owner,whom was walm and welcoming.We had a handicap person in our party and Orlando and Rich couldn't be more accommodating.The eggplant appetizer was great.The clams and spaghetti were fabulous and the cannolis were the best I ever had,and my group and I are all Itaians.We will definitely return.
Fresh pasta Rich foods, pleasant service, baked that day bread
Food was under par, cold, and portions were very small compared to other O'charley's that I've gone to. It took 40 minutes or more to receive our food after ordering. Service was below expected.
We made reservations for two and arrived and were seated right away. The wait staff was very helpful and the food was excellent!! We will be back.

Such an unexpected delight! Right across the street from Paul Revere's house, the food, the atmosphere and service were great. Don't miss the limoncello shrimp and halibut francese! We will be back!

wonderful place to dine
I went after work and got there early catching them by surprise, but they sat me down and took very good care of me.I recommend anything Fra Diavlo.
MY HUSBAND AND I WERE GREETED AT THE DOOR AND BROUGHT TO OUR TABLE SITUATED BY AN OPEN WINDOW OVERLOOKING THE PAUL REVERE HOUSE.OUR WAITER WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE MENU.THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC AND PIPING HOT! OUR WAITER CHECKED ON US DURING THE COURSE OF THE MEAL TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS GOING WELL - IT SURE WAS. I TOLD MANY OF MY FRIENDS ABOUT THE FOOD AND SERVICE. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK.....

Food and service were excellent... Parking not so close or easy to find, so I would not suggest driving, but everything else was fabulous!
Had just coffee & dessert. Everything was fine.
From the very first person that greeted us at the door to the many staff people that attended to our needs during dinner, each and every one seemed to genuinely care about our dining experience.
We talked to the owner after the meal and this just added to a great lunch.
the portion of chicken marsala for $13.00 was very small.

I had the shrimp and scallop fra diavlo and the heat in the sauce was perfect. The scallops were unbelievably melt in your mouth tender, and the shrimp were cooked perfect. Nice portion size. Tiraimsu for dessert was excellent. Looking forward to going back for more of the menu.
Great food, Great waitress.
We made a 6:30 reservation and arrived a little early. The restaurant was quiet (only one other party at the time) and we were seated right away. The décor was nice, the staff friendly.
food was bland, no flavor, no garlic and very few clams in the clam sauce and sauce was very very dry.
I gave the coupon to my son and his girlfriend and they had a great time. Said the restaurant was excellent.

Riccardo's is our favorite for italian food in Boston. Richard and his family are always very hospitable. We have been going several times a year for the past 12 years and always have a great meal.

The only bad thing I can say is they need to update there menu that is on-line. They say salads are included but they are not.

The food was good as usual. My date got the pork and loved it. I ordered the Calamari Ripini, as I always do. My only complaint is that I ordered it with the wheat pasta, however, I was given regular pasta. The food was still good though.

What a great place. The food was excellent; the veal just melted in my mouth. The atmosphere was wonderful, music in the background, but did not interfere with conversation. Mid to low lighting and crisp linens with sparkling glass and silverware. Attention to our needs without being intrusive. All in all, great place that we will visit again.
One member of our party really enjoys chicken cachitore & IT WASN'T ON THE MENU. The waitress checked for us, and the Chef was very accomodating. It made his Birthday Dinner Extra Special. Everything was cooked to perfection!
The service was woefully slow. We arrived on time at 8 pm for our resevations and we had to praqctically tackle someone to get our bill and head out.

Treated well despite having a very new waiter.
The restaurant is old & dated, smelly and has terrible service. Felt taken advantage of when we were charged $14.00 for two side dishes of pasta that we served w/entree. Just an overall bad experience, I would never return considering there are literally 100 better places to go in North End. Surprised this restaurant is still in business, I suspect it won't be for too much longer.
We had a reservation for 8pm but did not get sat until 830pm.
Food could have been better. My lasgana was bland. Needed more meat and more flavor.

Despite a reservation, we waited a long time for a table. The pork roll I had, looked like it was plated a long time before it was served. The vegetable had too much oil or something on it.

had a 8:30 reservation, didn't get sat until after 9PM. Didn't get food until after 10PM. Hostess said kitchen was overwhelmed. But the wait ruined the overall experience for us.

Some of the reviews of Riccardo's were negative in terms of food or service, but I found neither of these to be true: we very much enjoyed our dinner at Riccardo's.

The service, atmosphere and food were just wonderful. We will definitely visit again. We just happened to be celebrating an engagement that happened moments before our dinner and the manager was very gracious and thoughtful.
I've used two certificates there, and enjoyed them both.
The lamb was good.The Sea Bass looked more like Talapia and the red sause it was in was horrid. My wife did not eat her meal.
We love the North Ebd but live 30 miles away so only get in occasionally. We will definitely return to Riccardo's, and we love North Square.

Food was very good, but for cost of dinner (before coupon) I would have expected to at least have a side of pasta with my chicken dish
The only, negative we were not told that a substitution from Pasta to a vegetable was a $5.00 charge.

Food was excellent. Server was a bit inexperienced, kept reaching across people to server the people sitting next to them instead of going behind, which was kind of off-putting.

We specified that it was our anniversary in the online reservation but we were seated at a table off in the corner when there were better seats available with views of the street. Also, the Veal was tough and i sat for a period of time w/ an empty glass.
This was my first visit to Riccardo's and it was excellent. the food was great and the service was great. the modern appreance and spacious inteiror was a nice treat compared to other restaurants in the north end. already recommending to friends! thank you for a great night out

the waiter was the owner's son and he was totally full of himself, thought it was cute to talk so fast you had to ask him to repeat everything, he was cocky and it came off as being rude
We were warmly welcomed and not rushed even though we arrive around 9:30 on our way back from the airport. The server was terrific and the food excellent. We will definitely be back.

I think Riccardo's has the best Italian food in the North End.
Our dining experience was very nice. Buying the coupons on the internet gives us an opportunity to try different restaurants. One comment on the sea bass, I would have liked it better if there was no skin. Other than that, everything was very good.

My meal, scallops and shrimp in a spicy red sauce, was very tasty, but my wife's meal, chicken with broccoli, was poor (the vegetable was overcooked and soggy, and the chicken wasn't very tasty). Service was excellent and friendly. However, because of my wife's negative impression, we won't likely return to this restaurant.
The pasta/cannelli bean soup was very good the chicken parm was also good but a bit salty.
service was fine. nobody offered us parmesan until we asked for it- not a big deal. but after dinner, the waiter asked us "you all set?" while at the table next to us, he asked whether they wanted any coffee or dessert. i could be reading into it, but couldn't help feeling like he was looking down on us because we used a gift certificate...

While our waiter was rather inattentive, the rest of the wait staff seemed pretty good. The sea bass entree was quite special; the lobster ravioli was good.

I will never go back to this restaurant again. I had to send my meal back...not hot enough and service was poor. No children's selections. High prices for what you get. Restaurant not crowded at all...that should have been my first clue that it was really bad.
The food was incredibly delicious!However, the service was very disappointing. First, when we arrived, we inquired about a window table and decided to wait at the bar until one cleared. Apparently we were forgotten about, as the gentelman never returned to seat us. My friend finally had to go to him to remind him that we were waiting for a table.Then there was the waiter - after bringing our entrees, our waiter pretty much disappeared. Waited a long time just to get his attention to bring us a dessert menu. Then waited even longer before he came back to take our dessert order. Fortunately for us, someone else brought the dessert to our table. Our water glasses were never refilled, nor were we asked if we needed additional drinks. And the waiter had disappeared for so long, that by the time we were able to get his attention, we were through with our entrees and no longer wanted drinks. We did want coffee at that point, though it was close to 15 minutes before we got it.We have dined at Ricardos many times and it has always been a favorite of ours. Our experience this time was quite disappointing, and not even close to the standards that we have come to expect. Had this been our first time dining there, we would probably be unlikely to return.
They are always gracious at Riccardo's. I love bringing new diners to them. The Gamberi Fuseilli never disappoints!
Absolutely wonderful North End Boston Italian place, delicious food, great service - a real gem among so many fantastic restaurants - worth the trip!
