Food at Mamma Assunta is great as usual. I’m very fussy about dining out. Few restaurants do I consider very good or excellent. This is one of them. Service is wonderful. From the moment you enter the restaurant you are greeted by the very friendly and welcoming Maitre di. Waitstaff is excellent... attentive but not overbearing. Prices are average. We ate outside as the weather was so lovely but the inside iof the restaurant is “old world” charming. Love this restaurant.

My seafood on broth was fabulous but my husband's veal was too salty.

Large party going on in rear, kitchen fell behind, hour and 20 minutes for food to come out. Waitress decided to avoid us rather than explaining the delay or maybe buying a round of drinks on the house.The fish dish came without the spinach or lemon. I was charged for three separate iced teas instead of refilling the glass as most restaurants would've done. Overall this is a good restaurant and I believe we just had a bad night and I would recommend it to others.The owner was not there last night and that might explain some of the confusion going on.

Very slow service we called ahead for a reservation but they told us we did. It need one when we arrived very busy and took 10 min to get our table 10 minutes later no service yet finally asked the manager if we could get served which he did explained did not expect to be busy shoes of staff food average poor boy sandwich terrible we did get a free dessert nor a four star resort
We both had the fish special. We we eat out we usually take leftovers home, but this time their was nothing left!

The food was excellent, the waiter courteous and helpful. He apologized for an hour's wait for our entrees! It was a busy Saturday night but we thought an hour's wait was a bit too much. We did have trouble at conversation as it was much too noisy for a Saturday night dinner.

Very pleasant ambience. Xlnt service. Very cordial host. Cannelloni was very good. Also, sole francesa was xlnt. Osso bucco was quite good. Should have been hotter. Sauce was was too floury and had no flavor. Risotto was OK. Dessert selection was very good as was choice of wines.

Ambiance was very nice and could be very cozy--if it had not been for 2 big showers going on in two rooms. However, it WAS a Sunday afternoon! A folding screen was put up to shield us visually. I had called a few hours before we went and was told I didn't need a reservation. The service was very good and the waiters knowledgeable and pleasant. However, I found the food ordered at our table "very busy" with sometimes unrecognizable veggies mixed in with the main dish. I found that my grilled swordfish would have been excellent if it were not covered with a huge amount of tarragon,(which I hate). Perhaps I missed that herb on the menu?. If so, then that was my fault. I would go back, but not on a Sunday afternoon!

Excellent food with prompt and friendly service - AS ALWAYS. We had reservations for a party of four (4). Unfortunately, it was a Sunday in April. Three large parties were being celebrated while we were there. As such, it was VERY noisy. My group (of four) and two other couples were the only tables not part of the large-parties crowd. Next time we'll double check to make sure it's not booked for large groups.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the owner, Elio, always makes an effort to stop at every table, even when the restaurant is extremely busy.

We love this place. The food is always right up there. It's always consistent -that's not to say it's never been slightly off but when it was it was only slightly. The services is cheerful and attentive. It's hat it's supposed to be.And Elio remembers your name after dining there about 3 or 4 times and given the traffic, that's pretty remarkable

It's needs a little more excitement in the menu dept for fish. It would be nice to put out with your delicious bread flavoured butter or some kind of a dip. Just my feelings. We enjoy the canneloni. Tenderloin of pork dish w/port wine sauce was good but the sauce had too many flavors in it. Very good selection of Bindi desserts. One dish that we enjoyed that is no longer on the menu is breast of chicken w/Dijon mustard sauce. Wine recommendation by waiter was xlnt. Service was xlnt. as well as espresso.
