The cook's special is always the absolute best supper, but the latest meals have been my absolute favorite. The atmosphere is wonderful whether inside or outside patio, love band or inside music station. Wonderful, laid back atmosphere.

Fried grouper entree with fries was great -- fresh, hot and tasty. Shrimp Po'Boy likewise excellent and my wife loved the home made chips.

The food is always excellent. The seared tune appetizer is enough for a main course. The fried calamari appetizer(not on the menu) is more than enough for two to share. Unique service-all the wait staff serve any table.

the table was uneven, I had to level it off with coasters.....the food is actually from a fried food fast food place attached to it and they take our order, walk over and have them cook it. had we known, we would NOT have stopped or bought the certificate

Great menu and great happy hour. The fried green tomato tower is a beautifully fantastic tasting work of art. Excellent service, great atmosphere. The Old Bay wings are really good.

I had the Po Boy oyster sandwich with hand cut fries. The sandwich loaded with oysters, lettuce, and tomato with a great remoulade sauce. My wife had a corned beef ruben that was huge, packed with corned beef, sauerkraut, and cheese. The serving are plentiful and piping hot.

Service was excellent. Food was very good with abundant quantities. Only minor criticism was that the Calamari was slightly overdone. Pan seared tuna is great and twice what one would expect as an appetizer.

We liked the outdoor dining and watching college football very much. Also looking forward to going more when they have a band in the spring. The food was basically bar food which we expected but very good bar food.
The blackened fish was the best we’ve had. Everything was very good. We will go back the next time we are in the area.

The atmosphere is great. Food is reasonably priced. They had a ban which was nice. Unfortunately they changed suppliers on their hamburger meat and they aren't quite as good as they used to be. Not bad but not quite the same.

wanted to sit outside but all tables and chairs were really dirty wiped off some chairs with a napkin waiter brought menues but only wiped table when requested we almost left but food sounded so good we all ordered different things and thought every thing was wonderful plan to go back next time and hope that we just caught them on a bad day

It was raining so we could not sit on the deck; were forced to sit inside and deal with cigarette smoke. Very unpleasant indeed. I would LOVE to see this establishment go smoke free. It took a long time to get our wings (45 minutes) but there was only one server and he was also the bartender so we understood. He did a good job considering how short staffed he was.

The food is very good and plentiful, but what really adds to making this place a gem is the friendliness and attentiveness of the owner, Anthony. He makes sure diners have a great experience.
We stopped while on vacation, had a little difficulty finding the place but well worth the trip. We had fresh grouper which was wonderful and cooked perfectly. Sauces are homemade and the waitress was very helpful in helping us make selections. Would definitely eat there again.

This is a sports bar and therefore the atmosphere was typical and expected. There was a sign/decoration on the wall in the outside dining area that (as a female) I found objectionable. I would go there again for the food, which was very good.
It was not billed as a "sports bar" but they had several big TV's with college football games on -- only one had the sound turned on but it was SO LOUD my husband and I couldn't talk to each other and the waitress had to ask us several times to repeat what our order was. The food was adequate, nothing all that special. Mostly it was the loud noise-ness of the place that really turned me off. I don't even LIKE football...

We got there before the evening rush. Bartender/outside waiter was excellent in making my family comfortable outside. Food was fantastic, everyone left happy and we had a good time. Will return again, and recommend!

On our recent trip to Myrtle Beach, we ate out quite a bit. This restaurant was our favorite one. The food was fantastic! We all ate something different on the menu and we couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Wish they were by my house! Guess we'll have to go back to Myrtle Beach, just so we can eat there again.
The band "Jazz Therapy" was, as always, EXCELLENT!!!

was a busy night, slow service
I was with two people who had asthma and there were patrons smoking in the restaurant. The food was overly salted and the sliders were burnt within an inch of their life.
Upon arrival we nearly left, because they allowed smoking. The waitress was gracious and seated us, as far as was possible in a small establishment, away from the smokey bar. But when the musician, whom we had been seated next to, began it was very difficult to carry on a conversation. When ordering our food, our one request,"no Cajun spices" on the shrimp that was an option on one of our entrees-which we were told was no problem-was ignored. It was impossible for me to eat it. The waitress, once again, was gracious and insisted she would bring another order of shrimp. Those shrimp were delicious. However,for our tastes,we found the food in general very salty-even the garlic bread, not much garlic flavor, but very salty.
The biggest problem was the mosquitos. We would have loved to have stayed and listened to the music, but the mosquitos were biting terribly.

The Island Bar and Grill is one of our favorite restaurants/bars, especially when it has live entertainment. This visit, they were out of potstickers, one of our favorites. However, the spud boats we tried instead were excellent!
