I notice they increased the price a lot for all the dishes.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the quantities were generous.
Under new management so menu still in update status. But fried rice & empanadas were great price & tasted wonderful! Order wait time was a little longer than expected. But most importantly they allowed carry out cuz all other restaurants all required restaurant.com users to dine-in only! This is a disadvantage for busy families with kids & in the runs.
Only one waiter so service was very slow and he didn't really understand the menu. He did go get the chef to explain stuff to us.
Staff was friendly and attentive.
Very attentive. Manager offered us a drink but when we said we did not drink, he then gave us a fruit juice instead.
It was good but I should have ordered what my husband got. :)
Shredded beef with black beans and rice dinner was excellent. Perhaps could have had a larger portion of the beef, but flavor was excellent! Also, rice and chicken dinner was excellent.
Food is not as good as it was

The food was okay but the service was not great and the prices were too high. I did like the gnoggi though but the fish my husband had was a bit dry. We ordered the salad on special that day to share and the nuts were missing in it! Would most likely not go back.
Best Peruvian meal we ever had. The food and service was excellent. The cerviche was outstanding. Highly recommend this place.

The food was exquisite. A lady whom I believe was either the manager or probably the owner was very attentive & welcoming. The churros really did live up to my expectations; I highly recommend them!

Polo Saltado is the best dish! Both of us get it every time we visit! Love how fresh the food tastes, and the service is very friendly! Especially this time, our waiter went above and beyond!
We are Ecuadorian so tried the Ecuadorian plates with much excitement, however our excitement turned to disappointment. The food had no real seasoning, none of our 4 plates were even acceptable, some plain, no flavor, processed food. On top of everything they charge the same as a high end restaurant. Very bad!
Great food and great food
Food was marginal for the price...Did not compare to local restaurants for quality of meal. My meal was Prime Rib that was fatty, grisle and over priced.
We made reservations early in the morning for my birthday celebration dinner. Good thing; the restaurant was booked full of reservations by the time we arrived and were seated immediately. The other couple joining us was late and the waitress was attentive to our needs and didn't get upset that they were late. We had a great meal and a wonderful time.
today they had 1/2 off on appetizers & $5 margaritas; great buy for a budget; lots of food for a reasonable price for the area.
The beef dish I chose was tough but flavorful; the chicken dish my hubby chose was very tender and tasty. I felt the whole experience was overpriced.
Service slow at first.
The food was really bad. The chicken was so dry like it was sitting under a lot a long time along with the hamburger was salty and over cooked. The lady taking are order was just rushing us that I just order water because looking at the drinks they had was not what she wanted us to do.

It was very good. The peruvian food tasted much more authentic then other peruvian restaurants I've been to in this area.
The mojito was very good. Our food was just OK. Nothing interesting enough to make us want to go back. The wait staff was friendly, however the service was really slow.
I wish they can b more clear with their specials, offers.Very confusing.

We had the Apollo and the lomo saltado. Its good, but every time we go the meat seems to deteriorate in terms of qquality. It's getting tougher and not as good.
Don Churro is an excellent South American restaurant. All the food is delicious and at least the Peruvian food is very authentic. The atmosphere is casual. Good service. There is a small bar, but it is easily a family restaurant.

I love their food- typical Latin American fare, but relatively fat-free. The staff is very nice and the overall atmosphere is great!
Enjoyed all entres ordered, but especially great were the Pulled Beef w/Rice & beans, and the Rice w/Chicken. Loved the "green sauce" over top of the rice too. ...A little pricey without gift cert, but will definitely return if certificates are avail. (Oh, music was a little loud..)
We have been going regularly for a a couple of years. the quality of the food is great except for a couple signature items. In particular, the lomo/pollo saltado is barely enough for a lunch portion and still costs approx $15. it's not worth it, not as good as it used to be and what made us come back repeatedly. I don't think we will come back as there are other restaurants that make this particular dish better and larger portion.

Food was outstanding. Pulled beef w/black beans and rice terrific. Loved the green spicy sauce. Waitress was very nice and food arrived quickly. No problems with Restaurant.com certificate. Will definitely return.

I went to Don Churro Cafe with my two daughters and my grandson. Our food was presented beautifully and was fresh tasting, hot and delicious. The service was also excellent. Happy to have discovered this restaurant and will definitely visit again soon.
Great food, nice place and great service.
Two out of the three dinners were good. Pulled port dinner(forgot name) wasn't great. Pork was good, but sides were pretty lame... Would have been better w/rice and beans.. 2nd dinner of pulled beef was excellent, but could have been warmer. Waiter was excellent - very friendly and on top of things.
The cafe is very cozy inside. The service was excellent and the food was even better!
our lomo saltado tasted great, but portion was slightly less than in the past. Our other order was a 3 eggs with cheese omelet came out looking like it was a less than 2 egg omelet without any cheese and it had ham and other veggie in there. We turned it back and really got the 3 eggs with cheese the way it was supposed to look so in the end, we were satisfied.

Very tasty food, comfortable atmosphere and a friendly wait staff. Experience was slightly marred by long delay in getting our meals (our waiter repeatedly apologized and brought us a free appetizer without our asking as well as two free dipping sauces with our churros for desert to compensate).
Love the new shrimp entrees, and as always we love the churros and chorizo!

Our server was great, but food to table time was slow The chicken was dry. Although I did like how fresh most of the food there were a couple of dishes were not as hot was they could have been. The prices were also higher than I thought they should be.

Hope that they branch out to Vienna! The food is not only good, of excellent quality, but generally much less greasy than other ethnic restaurants (read: healthy). It's fun to eat there- the environment is congenial and quiet enough to talk. The people are pleasant. I love this place...
We used to go to Don Churro fairly regularly, but had not been there for a while. It has gone down-hill big time. There was a "language issue" with our server, which I could generally overlook, but the food has gone from very good to almost, but not quite, mediocre. We will never go there again.

Restaurant was crowded because of b-day parties.. 10 min wait to sit, then another 45mins before food arrived. 2 of the 3 dishes were excellent... Pollo Saltado was very salty. ...Mgr and waiter very friendly and offered free desert... We will give it another shot because of this...
your food is good, it used to be excellent. first let me say that about 4 items we used to get there have dissappeared from your menu. We noticed that since you have received a few food endorcements from Washingtonian Magazine and others that your prices went up, with service, regular music, portion size, quality, menu selection went south. although this would not keep us from going there again as we like the atmosphere and music, we are searching for another replacement restaurant for your ethnic food and atmosphere. I also would not reccommend to a friend.

The seafood was overcooked, my order was not made correctly (they forgot to add avocado as described in the menu). But the Churros were delicious
I worked as a server for 6+yrs and I know if a glass is empty to offer another drink. I noticed other servers were very active with their tables, not our server though. Food was great though.

Overall,a great dinner. One complaint: restaurant was cold. Most diners left their coats on! Probably should have said something to the manager. Our visit: October 22.
The steak wasn't medium rare like we requested; we would not order it again--too tough. We liked the chicken, fish and dessert. I'd like to try other items on the menu.
Always great food, but consistently slow service. I know the food is prepared fresh, but the majority of the time have had to wait at least 1/2 to get appetizer and/or food. I enjoy bringing new patrons to the restaurant but get slightly embarrassed at the slow service and have to let wait staff know we are getting a bit hungry. Please consider these comments, as I truly enjoy all other aspects of the establishment.

very yummy food overall, kids menue catered to kids, but the food wasn't good at all. Like to see kids portions of the traditional entrees or entrees to kids tastes other than than nuggets and cheeseburgers.

Don Churros Cafe is a great Latino Restaurant that provide excellent customer services and the food is very good. I like the location.
